What Are You Waiting For?

You have a dream to bring an idea to life. The idea you have gnaws at you and creeps into your thoughts the moment you are unhappy with the status quo. And yet you hesitate to take the risk; you doubt your ability to do it; you worry if it will work; or you conjure up one million reasons why you don’t deserve it.

Ironically, you work day and night to make the bottom line of other people’s dreams come true. You sacrifice your time and peace of mind to meet deadlines, make budgets, and create your best work for someone else. All the while, time for your dream keeps slipping away.

You have the power to change that.

A gentle reminder: You are beautiful. You are smart. You can do whatever you put your mind to. You have something great within you. You have the power to help others. Your life deserves to be lived to the fullest.

If at any time reading the above statements you doubted that they applied to you, then you have experienced first-hand, the power of the “conversation within”. The “conversation within” is the steady stream of doubt and negative thoughts we tell ourselves quietly and privately all day long. It is by far the hardest thing you will have to overcome when bringing your dreams to life, and you will consciously have to make the effort to combat the “conversation within” with positive and reinforcing thoughts. The fear of failure, one of the main reasons why we never pursue our dreams, resides (and thrives) in the “conversation within”.

The same effort needs to be applied to managing “the conversation without”, meaning the messages that you are being told by your immediate social circle. Are the people you spend the most time with positive, uplifting, and trustworthy? Are they supportive when you talk about your idea? Do they celebrate your success? If the answer is “no” to any of these qualities, than I suggest you immediately begin to reassess your social circle and/or limit the time you spend with them. Your time is valuable and needs to be invested in the activities and people that will bring you closer to bringing your dream to life.

It is 100% possible to have your idea succeed. It is 0% possible if you don’t even try. You have the power to manage these internal/ external conversations, and by doing so, you can build a strong foundation to jump-kick building the resources, knowledge and social networks you will need to be successful. You will be surprised how one thing leads to the other and it will all be very exciting – much more exciting than the status quo, I can assure you!

You are beautiful. You are smart. You can do whatever you put your mind to. You have something great within you. You have the power to help others. Your life deserves to be lived to the fullest. What are you waiting for? You can do this!
